BASE ENTRY  REQUIREMENTS

 
 

Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) is a controlled access installation. Vehicles with an adult authorized Department of Defense ID cardholder (ages 18 or older) with an DoD ID card may enter JBLM through any open gate.

 

If you do not have an ID card listed on the Department of Defense issued ID cards website, you must report to the Visitor Control Center adjacent to the McChord Field Main Gate (I-5 exit 125) or Lewis Main Liberty Gate (I-5 exit 120) to receive a temporary pass. This pass will only be issued during regular Museum hours.

 

NOTE: JBLM is in compliance with the REAL ID Act of 2005,  and will only accept forms of identification that does not meet REAL ID requirments.

 

To apply for a JBLM temporary pass, you must have a compliant driver's license (for Washington State residents an Enhanced driver license (EDL) will only be accepted), vehicle registration, proof of insurance.

 

A pass for the McChord Air Museum will only be issued during regular Museum Hours. For additional information, please call the McChord Field Visitor Center at 253-982-2119.

 
 

Foreign Nationals

All foreign national visitors are required to process at a Visitor Center for security vetting and to obtain a pass.  Foreign visitors must show current passport showing valid entry stamp prior to receiving a temporary pass. For Additional information call JBLM's Access control at 253-967-4794.

Groups desiring tours of other McChord Field facilities should contact the 62d Airlift Wing Public Affairs Office (253-982-5637) or e-mail 62aw.pa.mail@us.af.mil for arrangements. Normal business hours for the 62d Public Affairs Office is Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

    CONTINUE STRAIGHT DOWN JOE JACKSON BLVD.
    TOWARDS TRAFFIC SIGNAL.

 

  • TURN RIGHT ONTO BARNES BLVD.

 

  • FOLLOW BARNES BLVD. STRAIGHT THROUGH
    THE LINCOLN BLVD TRAFFIC SIGNAL.

 

  • THE MUSEUM BUILDING (BLDG 517) WILL BE AT YOUR RIGHT
    (ACCROSS THE STREET FROM BURGER KING)
    PARKING IS LOCATED BEHIND THE MUSEUM BUILDING.

  • TAKE EXIT 125 OFF OF I-5

 

  • TURN RIGHT AT THE SIGNAL

McCHORD AIR MUSEUM & AIRPARK
 
 
1. McChord Air Museum Main Building            
2. McChord Air Museum Heritage Hill Airpark
 

The McChord Air Museum is located in three areas, The Main Building, the Air Park and Restoration Hangar. When visiting, please visit the main building first, (the McChord Air Museum is open from 12PM - 4PM Tuesday - Friday), the Heritage Hill Air Park can be seen after the Museum is closed for the day.

The McChord Air Museum Restoration Hangar  can only be visited by appointment only.
